Traditions, classics and modern interpretations - House Baccarat has been famous for its crystal products for 250 years in a row.


In 1764, King Louis XV issued a decree in which he allowed Bishop Metz, Monsignor Louis de Montmorency-Laval, to build a glass factory in the Lorraine town of Baccarat (France). Now this is a house with a story. Its magnificent dishes and interior items are decorated with aristocratic - and not only! - Homes around the world.
Crystal pendants for the chandelier were first introduced Baccarat at the French national exhibition of industrial goods in 1827. They became the prototype of multi-track crystal chandeliers, which they began to produce in 1855. In 1839, colored crystal was created, which later became the hallmark Baccarat. In 1841 a collection appeared Hartcourtwhere a special method of cutting crystal was used. And in 1896 Baccarat one of the first to produce electric chandeliers.
In the 20s of the last century on updating the image Baccarat worked as an artist and designer Georges Chevalier. In 1996, the French designer Matthias introduced the collection Recontreand in 2002, Philippe Starck staged a black revolution by showing off a chandelier Zenith black color.
Once a company Baccarat supplied crystal to the imperial house of Russia. In 1896, 3.85 m high candelabra were made from 3320 crystal pendants. And in 1909, the royal service was created - a set of glasses from two-layer crystal - transparent and ruby. By the way, these glasses are available Baccarat still.
In 2008, the House Baccarat opened a boutique in Moscow at which the Crystal Room restaurant operates with an interior by Philippe Starck.
For its 250th anniversary, the company has prepared a new version of its best-selling book - chandeliers Zenith - ruby ​​color, 84 lamps. The main assortment of the company over the past two and a half centuries has not changed: it is still table crystal, decor items, lighting, jewelry.
