Simple ways that give a visual (and tangible!) Result.
Over time, sofa cushions can lose their former elasticity, as their filler wears out and loses volume. This workshop is about how to restore elasticity to cushions of two different designs. On this sofa there are both types: pillows on the back - with filler from synthetic winterizer or holofiber, pillows on the seats - with filler from foam rubber and synthetic winterizer.
It looked like a sofa before work:
And so he became after:
In addition to working with the filler, the pillow covers were removed and washed. By the way, if the covers also become unusable, you can sew new ones - read about it here:
How to sew a sofa cover: 3 workshops
You will need:
- thick sheet synthetic winterizer (you can use an unnecessary blanket);
- syntepuh or holofiber (a similar filler from an unnecessary pillow will do);
- foam rubber may also be needed if the foam rubber of the pillows needs to be replaced;
- cotton fabric;
- glue for fabric;
- scissors;
- needle for hand sewing and thread.
How to quickly sew a chair cover
Step 1
Remove the covers from the pillows. On this sofa, for example, seat cushions without covers looked like this. Foam rubber was in satisfactory condition, and they did not begin to change it. If you need to change the foam rubber, select the material of the desired thickness and cut out the details, focusing on the available ones.
Step 2
Wrap the pillow on all sides with a sheet padding polyester or blanket. From above, wrap the entire structure with fabric and fix the fabric with glue (you can also sew it up). When the cover is washed and dried, the liner can be inserted into it.
Step 3
Pillows for the back in this case are arranged differently: in fact, this is just a cover with synthetic filler.
Spread one of the seams of the cover.
Step 4
Add enough filler from the pillow or specially purchased syntepuh / holofiber to the case. Then sew the cover. Done.
