An option for those who do not have a large ironing board or need a mobile device for ironing where the washing machine is: a mat with magnets.
This mobile mat is placed on the washing machine. On the sides it is held by magnets sewn from the inside. Having finished ironing, the mat is easy to fold and remove - it is convenient if there is no ironing board or for small work you do not want to remove it and lay it out.
Important: to sew such a mat is best from a dense smooth cotton or linen fabric. It is better to wash the fabric before work at a temperature of 60–90 degrees and then iron, so it is less likely to deform or shrink during the operation of the mat. Small round magnets can be found, in particular, in needlework stores. You can use felt as a soft pad. A synthetic winterizer, as in the given master class, is also suitable, but over time, from the influence of the iron, it can flatten somewhat. Thin foam rubber can be used, but over time, the same fate can be expected for it, as a synthetic winterizer.

Step 1
Decide on the right mat size. It is necessary that the mat covers the upper surface of the washing machine and the ends remain on the sides, fastened with magnets to its walls. In this case, the mat part will be 100x45 cm in size. Cut 3 identical parts: 2 from fabric and 1 from gasket material. Also cut out 2 rectangles 12x45 cm in size from the fabric.
Step 2
Take a 12x45 rectangle and distribute 4 magnets on it: they should be at equal distances from each other so that you can cover them with half of the rectangle (see photo). Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise so that the magnets are inside, and secure them with pins first, chip both layers of fabric, and then sew manually (see photo). Repeat with a second 12x45 rectangle and 4 magnets.
Step 3
Pin and sew the strips with magnets on the inside of the mat. Retreat from each of the short sides about 7-8 cm.
Step 4
Fold the mat parts sequentially as shown in the photo and pin them with pins.
Step 5
Sew around the perimeter, leaving a hole for turning out.
Step 6
Cut corners.
Step 7
Turn out a mat and sew a hole. Done.
