Behind this name is a fairly simple but reliable assistant, especially if you work with tucks.

It is likely that you are already using a tailor's bundle without knowing its name! This knot is great for completing stitches after sewing tucks.

When stitching a standard continuous tuck on the light and medium tissues at the base, at the beginning of the stitch, the stitching is done, after which the stitch is continued from the wide end to the top, carefully nullifying it.

There are several ways to fasten the thread at the top of the tuck, and the most undesirable of them will be another fastener. In this case, there is a risk of deforming the peak and / or making it tougher and more rigid than necessary, which will be noticeable from the face.

The second way is to tie a traditional knot, but this is not as convenient as it might seem: if you tighten the threads too much, the tuck can again become deformed, if the knot is too far from the top, the stitch will weaken, which again will spoil the appearance of the product . To tie a regular knot at an ideal distance from the top, of course, is possible, but not very convenient.

How to remove a tuck

A tailor's knot will come to the rescue, which is incredibly simple in execution, but at the same time it will be very easy for you to adjust its location.

After finishing the line, cut the threads, leaving a tail of 10 cm.Fold the threads together, make a loop and thread the tip through it.

Use the needle to move the loop closer to the fabric and gently tighten. If necessary, you can make a double knot.
